Yezbi Kids Videos · Legal draft

Privacy notice

A plain-language description of the information Yezbi uses to provide family-controlled learning and media tools.

Not final: this draft, updated September 30, 2026, is pending attorney review and completion of the operator’s legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and public-launch consent language.

Who controls the family account

A parent or authorized adult creates and controls the family account. Children do not create public accounts or profiles. A signed-in parent activates a child-facing device for a particular child and can revoke that access.

Information we collect

The default speech-input path is the device keyboard. Yezbi does not store raw audio by default.

How we use it

We use family information to provide the schedule, learning records, recommendations, student views, content controls, viewing limits, support, security, and troubleshooting requested by the parent. Yezbi does not sell family or child information, create public child profiles, or use viewing history for targeted advertising.

YouTube playback and outgoing services

Video thumbnails can load directly from YouTube’s image servers or the image provider listed in the catalog while you browse, before opening a player or starting playback. Those image requests share the device’s IP address and browser/request information with the image provider. A privacy-enhanced player does not prevent these earlier requests.

Yezbi Kids Videos uses privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds to play catalog videos. Loading the player also connects the device to YouTube, even before you press a playback control, and YouTube’s own terms and privacy practices apply. YouTube may display ads; Yezbi does not control those ads and does not promise ad-free playback.

Other providers currently used or planned across Yezbi include Cloudflare for hosting and data infrastructure, Clerk for parent authentication, and parent-initiated services described in the full launch policy. Following an outside link may share browser and request information with that destination under its own policy.

Parent choices

Authorized parents can review family information, change settings, block or unblock catalog videos and channels, and revoke activated devices. The family owner can export or permanently delete family data. Revoking a device stops its authorized access at the next check; it does not erase saved history or prevent external image requests from an already open page.

There is currently no setting to turn off watch-history collection while continuing playback. That option is planned; its retention and collection rules still need to be settled. Revocation and family deletion are separate actions, not a history-off setting.

Retention and deletion

Scheduled cleanup removes current raw playback events older than 90 days. This does not erase all viewing information: per-child daily totals, per-video and theme progress, Homeschool activity records that can contain video titles and channels, and family usage milestones and counts can remain beyond 90 days. Service-wide video and theme statistics can also remain. These records currently have no equivalent automatic age-based expiry.

Operational events are eligible for cleanup after 30 days. Records marked for routine deletion are eligible for purge after 30 days; permanent family deletion is a separate action. Active learning and portfolio records are not covered by raw playback-event expiry.

The family export includes stored family viewing events, progress, daily totals, activity records and family usage summaries. Service-wide video and theme statistics are not part of that export. Family deletion does not guarantee removal of contributions already included in those service-wide summaries. Final retention rules and the treatment of existing history are still under review; this description does not approve indefinite retention.

The owner-only family deletion flow removes family data and private files, including family Bookshelf records and this family's learning-workspace grants and change history. Adult sign-ins, personal data, and independently owned teaching workspaces are preserved. Global account closure is a separate process. A non-identifying completion receipt and protected backups may remain as described in the final retention policy.

Security

Yezbi separates families with server-enforced identifiers, requires adult authentication for administration, uses revocable child-device access, hashes sensitive device credentials and parent PINs, and limits private-file access. No online service can promise absolute security.

Children under 13

Yezbi contains child-directed surfaces. A parent must create the family, provide any required consent, and activate child devices. Authorized parents can review family information and revoke child-device access; the family owner can export or permanently delete family data using the controls described above.

This draft is not a claim of COPPA certification, safe-harbor membership, or completed legal compliance. Public launch is pending attorney review of the notice, consent flow, service-provider terms, and current legal requirements.
